Chris Brown;84;of 400 Johnson Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Wednesday;April 10;1968;at 4:35 a.m.in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital after a lingering illness. Mr.Brown;who was born in Rostraver Twp.on April 23;1883;was a member of Antioch Baptist Church of Belle Vernon;where he served on the board of deacons for many years. He was also a past master of Twin City Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 67 of Pricedale. Mr.Brown was self-employed for many years in the trucking business. Surviving are his widow;Anna Belle Brown;four nephews;Felton Brown of Monessen;Christopher Brown of Columbus;Ohio;Roy Ross of Pricedale and Raymond Williams of Weirton;W.Va.;two nieces;Dorothy Pollard and Mrs.Ada Watkins;both of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received at the William R.Taylor Funeral Home;Monessen;after 7 p.m. April 11. The body will be removed to Antioch Baptist Church in Belle Vernon at 4 p.m.April 12 for viewing there until service on Saturday;April 13 at 1 p.m. The Rev.A.C.Morris;pastor will officiate.
