Obituary

Chester L. Wallace,68,of 309 Fayette Street, Belle Vernon,died suddenly Tuesday,Aug. 16,1994,at 11:30 p.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Cairnbrook,Shade Township,Cambria County,Feb. 2,1926,a son of the late Charles L. and Pauline Missocki Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon,the Fraternal Order of Police,the VFW of Belle Vernon and the Belle Vernon American Legion.  He had lived in Belle Vernon since 1949,having moved from Cairnbrook. Mr. Wallace retired in 1976 from the Pennsylvania State Police,where he was a sergeant,serving from 1947 to retirement.  A veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict,he was a sergeant in the U. S. Marines,serving in the Military Police.  He had served during World War II in Iwo Jima. He is survived by his wife of 43 years,Frances Bello Wallace,whom he married Dec. 19,1950;one son,Charles and wife,Lisa Wallace of Boardman,Ohio; one daughter,Mrs. Harry (Karen) Jones of Cecil; one brother,Edward Wallace of Nemacolin;and three sisters,Blanche  Baker of Nemacolin,Victoria Anania of Fairlawn,N.J.;and Sophia Gromack of Cairnbrook. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by two brothers,William and Stanley Wallace;and one sister,Helen Cordts. Friends will be received in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. 700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will take place Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard C. Klein Jr. of the Rehoboth Presbyterain Church of Rostraver Township officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
