Charlotte Dean-Ashton Coates;75;of Fayette City (Brownstown);died Sunday May 24;1998;at 11:10 a.m. in Haven Crest Nursing Center. Born Jan.4;1922;in North Charleroi;she was the daughter of the late John and Blanche Minerva Hall Dean-Ashton. Mrs.Coates resided in Brownstown for 52 years and was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church;Fayette City;and its Rosary Society. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by a great-grandson;Thomas Scott Brougher;four brothers; Jim;Melvin;Llewllyn and Milton Sharrar;and four sisters;Kathryn Sharrar;Loverne McCrory;Naomi Skibo and Ruth Gaskill. Surviving are her husband;Pete Coates;one son and daughter-in-law;John Jack and Lynne Coates Sr.of Speers;a daughter and son-in-law;Catherine C.and Jack W.Marshall of Fayette City;four grandchildren;John A.Coates Jr.;Joseph Peter Coates;Aimee Beth Marshall Brougher and Jack C.Marshall;and two great-granddaughters;Stephanie Brougher and Breanna Coates. Friends were received Monday and will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 9:15 a.m.;followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church;Fayette City;with the Rev.Leonard J.McAlpin;pastor;as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Parish Rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 3 p.m.Tuesday. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Arrangements are being handled by the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home.
