Charlie G. Phillips Sr.,93,of West Brownsville and formerly of Denbo,died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday,July 12,1995,in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Jan.1,1902,in England,a son of the late John and Martha Phillips. Mr. Phillips was retired after 47 years of employment with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Monessen. Surviving are four daughters,Mrs. Floyd (Virginia) Shaw of Bentleyville,Patricia Nowicki of Bentleyville,Martha Lippencott of West Brownsville and Jacqueline Timko of Wilmington,Ohio;two sons,Richard Phillips of Vero Veach,Fla.,and Charles Phillips of Denbo;one sister,Edith Bamford of Rostraver Township;23 grandchildren;several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Elizabeth Metz Phillips,who died Feb. 22,1966;one daughter,Polly Teagarden;and one son,Charlie G. Phillips,Jr. Friends will be received in the Greenlee Funeral Home,Route 40,Beallsville,Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.,the time of services in the funeral home. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The Greenlee Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
