Obituary

Charles W. Peters Sr. of 8 Sampson St., Belle Vernon, died suddenly at 9 p.m. Wednesday,Jan.11,1978, in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was 53. Born in Fairhope on Oct. 31, 1924, he was a son of the late George T. and Elizabeth Anderson Peters. He was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area. Mr. Peters belonged to the Marion Presbyterian Church. He was employed by the Monessen-South Western Railroad at the Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and was a veteran of service with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Surviving are his widow, Carolyn (Betty) Grazzini Peters, three sons, Charles W. Peters Jr. and David A. Peters, both of Belle Vernon, and Donald R. Peters of Milford, Conn., two brothers, George T. Peters and Robert Peters, both of Belle Vernon, one sister, Mrs. Charles (Ida May) Holet of Monessen, and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home, Belle Vernon, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Friday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m.with the Rev.Robert H.R.Loughborough Jr.of the Marion Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
