Obituary

Charles W. Johnson,aged 58 years, died suddenly Monday, June 14,1943,at 9:30 a.m.  He was engaged as street commissioner and a police officer in Belle Vernon.  He was past officer of the Jr. O.U.A.M.,where he held membership for 43 years.  He was also a member of the North Belle Vernon Fire department,the Fraternal Order of Police and the Christian Church at Point Marion. Surviving are his wife,Mrs. Anna Johnson,a son, Seaman First Class Edwin Johnson,stationed at Dutch Harbor,Alaska;a daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Franks of Belle Vernon and a brother, Jesse Johnson of Horde,W.Va. Friends are being received at the late home,16 Eggers avenue,East Belle Vernon,where services will be held Thursday,June 17,at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Harold Davis,of Uniontown,officiating.  Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Harold R.Toner, funeral director, in charge.
