Obituary

Charles W. Gidick,50,deputy sheriff of Fayette County,whose residence is at 827 Bell St.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,Aug. 20,1958 in Presbyterian Hosptial, Pittsburgh after a long illness. An employee of the Allenport plant of the Pittsburgh Steel Co. for the past 30 years,and a foreman in the strip mill, Mr. Gidick was a member of the St. Sebastian R.C.Church, Belle Vernon and B.P.O. Elks Lodge of Charleroi. He is survived by his wife, Catherine;a son, Kenneth,at home;six brothers, George and John of Charleroi,Stephen of Arcadia, Calif.,Peter of Connecticut,Michael of Cobins,Calif. and Frank of Donora;four sisters,Mrs. Albert (Ann) Mood of Monongahela,Mrs. Wallace (Helen) Smith of Kittanning,Mrs. Timothy (Evelyn) Johnston of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Peter (Sophie) Soroka of Lynnwood, Belle Vernon R.D. Friends are being received at the Toner Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.  Services will be conducted from the St. Sebastian R.C. Church,Belle Vernon,on Saturday,Aug.23,at 11 a.m.  The Very Rev. Henry Hanse,pastor,will officiate at Requiem Mass.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Harold R.Toner,funeral director.
