Obituary

Believed to have collapsed and died from a heart attack sometime Saturday night, the body of Charles R.Myers,79-year-old Belle Vernon man was found yesterday morning Monday,Nov.21,1949,at 11 o'clock in the one room he occupied in his large home on Main street. Mr.Myers, always an early riser, was in the habit of stopping in a hardware store adjacent to his home every morning, and when he failed to put in his appearance Monday morning,Kenneth Beazell accompanied by James Hassen,Jr.,went to his room and found him dead. McCrory said that a kitchen table was found overturned on the body, but that,in his opinion, the aged man had caught at the table when he collapsed. Mr.Myers,a retired restaurant owner, had lived alone since the death of his wife several years ago. He is survived by one son,William,of Erie, two brothers,Alvin of Pittsburgh and Levi of Hancock,Md. One grandchild also survives. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home in Belle Vernon where services will be held at 4 p.m.Wednesday,Nov.23,1949,in charge of Rev.Cecil Campbell of the Methodist Church. Interment in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner, funeral director.
