Charles Parada,60,of Belle Vernon R.D.2, a veteran trackman of the Pittsburgh & West virginia Railroad Co.was instantly killed Friday night, November 21,1947 at the intersection at the Monessen tower near Pricedale. Mr. Parada was off duty at the time,walking toward Belle Vernon when he was struck by shifting slug cars of the M.S.W. line which serves Pittsburgh Steel Co. The accident occurred at 6:45 p.m. and his body was discovered ten minutes later by William Hake,of Donora,conductor of the second train which was waiting for the first train to clear the track. Mr. Parada,who lived at the Daugherty homestead near the Pgh. & W.Va. line,left to go home to go to Belle Vernon and had reached a point where the thru line crosses the Monessen Southwest slag line tracks. It was believed he stepped from the main line,along a level stretch of tracks,into the path of the oncoming slag cars which were being shifted at that point. Mr. Parada left no known relatives. Friends are being received at the Melenyzer Funeral Home in Belle Vernon,where services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Charles L.
