Charles Melvin Arn,aged 42 years,a veteran of the World War,died Thursday evening,February 12,1942,in the Veterans hospital,Aspinwall. He was a resident of Connellsville. A graduate of California State Teachers college,Mr.Arn had acted as principal of the Newell public schools for some time,but previous to his illness had been manager of the State Liquor store in Uniontown. Surviving are his wife,Bertha Morris Arn,and two children,John and Ruth Irene. His mother,three sisters and three brothers,all of Philadelphia,also survive. Mr.Arn was well known in Monessen as he had worked several summers at the Pittsburgh Steel Co. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Elks.
