Obituary

Charles L.McCauley,79,of Belle Vernon R.D.1,died suddenly at the Mon Valley Hospital,Monday,Dec.29,1986 at 7:30 p.m. He was born in Latrobe,May 13,1907,a son of the late Cornelious and Mary Ann O'Laughlin McCauley. He was a member of the American Legion Post 28,Monessen for the past 41 years and was an active member of the U.S.Trotting Association with standard breds. He lived in Rostraver Township for the past 26 years. He was a World War II Army veteran. He retired in 1970 as a steamfitter out of Local 650,Youngwood. Survivors include his wife,Betty Yost McCauley,two daughters,Cheryl R.McCauley of Columbus,Ohio and Mrs.Keith (Karen) Thayer of Belle Vernon R.D.1,one brother,John McCauley,Belle Vernon R.D.4,one sister,Gertrude McColligan of Monessen. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Marlin A.Miller of the Fells United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of the arrangements.
