Obituary

Charles Hogan O'Brien,75,of Brownstown,Fayette City R.D.1,died Tuesday,Jan.21,1992,in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. He was born April 30,1916,in Fayette City,a son of the late James and Fannie Livingstone O'Brien. A U.S.Air Force veteran of World War II,Mr.O'Brien was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Allenport plant. He was a member of the First Christian Church,Brightwell-Daugherty American Legion Post 484 and Gummert Lodge 252 F&AM,all of Fayette City. Survivors include his wife,Thelma Braithwood O'Brien,one sister,Elizabeth Speck of Pittsburgh,and several nephews and nieces,including Janice Boullon of Belle Vernon and Sandy Solomon of Elizabeth. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by one sister,Mary Susan Vandernette,and one niece,Leigh Ann Boulton. Friends will be received after 7 p.m.Wednesday and will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,where services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m.with the Revs. Wayne Boring of First Christian Church,Fayette City,and Jack Elder of Fayette City United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. American Legion Post 484 will hold a service Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.in the funeral home. A masonic service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 7 p.m.
