Obituary

Charles H. Armentrout, 89, of Salt Springs, Fla., formerly of the Mon Valley, died Monday, May 16, 2005. He was born Jan. 7, 1916 in Mineral County, W.Va., the son of the late Baxter and May Green Armentrout. He was an employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant, having started in 1934 as a craneman. Mr. Armentrout had held various positions and was an electrician in the No. 2 Hot Mill at his retirement in 1977. He is survived by his daughter, Gerry Tillman of Florida, his son, Charles Bucky Armentrout of Rostraver Township, five grandchildren, Edward Magruda, Kristina Boyd, Joelene Christman and Michael and John Armentrout, and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his wife, Vera Armentrout, who was a longtime teacher in the Charleroi School District. Friends will be received at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, a Golden Rule Funeral Home, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, May 24 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
