Obituary

Charles H.Roe of 412 Forest St.,Monessen,died Friday,April 25,1986,in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp.,after a lingering illness. He was 77. Mr.Roe was born Aug.16,1908,in Brooklyn,N.Y.,a son of the late Charles and Olga Roe. He was a retired steelworker,having been employed in the Shipping Department of the Monessen Works of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Mr.Roe was a member of St.Luke Lutheran Church and the VFW Post,both of Monessen. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. A brother,John Roe,is deceased. Surviving are his wife,Willa Roe,two sisters,Mrs.Harry (Eva) Rose of Veneta,N.Y.,and Mrs.Robert (Gertrude) Potts of Belle Vernon,and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen. Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m.in the chapel of the funeral home,with Pastor Charles L.Barber officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery,Belle Vernon,Pa. The Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,is in charge of arrangements.
