Obituary

Charles Eugene Barr,64,of Brewery Hill,R.D.,Belle Vernon died  Monday,Dec.12,1960,at 1 p.m.at his home.  Mr.Barr was retired from work at the Pricedale Mine in 1954.  He was a veteran of World War l.  Surviving are his widow,Eva J.Usher Barr;three sons,Frank Nichols,of Donora and John and Louis Nichols of Charleroi;eight daughters,Bertha Nichols King of Perryopolis,Clara Nichols King of Perryopolis,R.D.2 Lena Nichols Corley of Jacobs Creek,Gertrude Nichols Bernard of Irwin,Eva Barr Steeger,of Rockville,Md.,Alftetta Barr Houseman,of Belle Vernon R.D.3,Ruth Barr McWilliams of Irwin,and Norma Jean Barr Prentice of Monessen;a brother,Clyde Barr of Fairmont,W.Va.;two sisters,Della Evans of Washington,Pa and Mary Morgan of Speers;30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.  Friends are being received at the Edwin Melenyzer Funeral Home,262 Donner Ave.,Monessen,from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.  Funeral servces will be held Thursday,Dec.15,at 1 p.m.from the funeral home,with the Rev.Emmet Meek,pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church,West Newton,officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Edwin Melenyzer,funeral director.
