Obituary

Charles Edward Snyder,67,of 425 Green St.,Belle Vernon,died at 12:20 p.m.Tuesday,June 19,1973,in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital after a lingering illness. Born March 30,1906,he was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon and had retired as a craneman from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Charleroi and was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II,having served in Normandy,Northern France,Rhineland and Central Europe. Surviving are his widow,Ethel Stewart Snyder,two sons,Carl of Brownsville and Marshall of Manina,Ohio,one daughter,Mrs.Lewis (Betty) Aldridge of Brownsville,onesister,Mrs.Roy (Ethel) Whitelaw of Belle Vernon,15 grandchilden,11 great-grandchildren,two nephews and two nieces. Friends are being received at the Harold R.Toner and Gerald R.Essey Funeral Home,Belle Vernon from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday. Service will be held at 2:30 p.m.Friday at the funeral home with the Rev.Daniel J.Dorulia of Stockdale Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will be in Belle Venon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner and Gerald R.Essey are the funeral directors in charge.
