Obituary

Charles E.Harvey,60,of 8 Luce avenue,Monessen,died in the Charleroi-Monessen hospital,Monday,April 30,1956,at 9:40 p.m.,after a brief illness.  Mr.Harvey ws born in Belle Vernon,and for the past forty-four years,was employed as foreman of the shipping department at the Page Steel and Wire Company plant in Monessen.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monessen,the Knights of Pythias,168, F.and A.M.,638,Monessen Sportsmen's Association,and the Monessen Chamber of Commerce.  He was also an insurance agent for a number of years,and took an active part in Monessen civic affairs.  He is survived by his wife,Pansy Harvey,two sons,Robert W.,of Rochester,New York,Philip D.of Atlanta,Georgia,one daughter,Betty Jane at home,two brothers,Price of Greensboro,Albert of Belle Vernon,one sister,Mrs.Ada Grant of Belle Vernon,and four grandchildren.  Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home,Monessen,during hours of 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.  Services will be held in the First Baptist Church of Monessen Thursday,May 3,1956,at 2 p.m.,in charge of Rev.LLoyd S.Ero,and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  H.Denver Rhome is the funeral director.
