Charles E. Johnston,56,of Belle Vernon,died Friday,March 28,1997,in Mon Valley Hospital. Born Aug. 29,1940,in Charleroi,he was the son of James and Virginia Reece Johnston, who survive. Mr. Johnston was employed as an electrician at the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a member of the Monessen United Methodist Church and Monessen F&AM Lodge 638,where he had served as past master. In addition to his parents,he is survived by his wife, Eloise Brown Johnston,a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Pamela) Hollick of Belle Vernon;a son,James S. Johnston,at home; a sister, Lora Lee Triggiani of Belle Vernon, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen. Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor James Mimidis of Pricedale Union Church officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Masonic services will be conducted Sunday at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.
