Obituary

Charles D.Breakwell,66,of 112 Fayette St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Oct.21,1965,at 5:20 o'clock in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. A resident of Braddock until 1960 when he came to Belle Vernon,he was employed as freight agent at the Belle Vernon office of Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad from that time until he retired Sept.1,1964. He had been in the employ of P&LE for 48 years. Mr.Breakwell was born in Thacker,W.Va.,Aug.31,1899. He was a member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 641 of McKeesport and Tall Cedars of Lebanon Al-o-mon 138 of Forest Hills. He was an honorary member of Belle Vernon Fire Co.,No.2. Surviving are his widow,Elma Haught Breakwell,a son,Charles D.Jr.,Beaver Falls,three daughters,Mrs.Clifford (Clara Adele) Wolf of York,Mrs.Michael (Virginia) Murnane of Pittsburgh and Mrs.Clarence (Hilda) Roberts of Beaver Falls,two brothers,George of Smithfield and Clifford of Belle Vernon,two sisters,Mrs.Richard (Honor) Hamer,Fairhope and Mrs.Edna Paulman,in Hawaii,four grandchildren,and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,after 7 p.m.,Oct.22. Services will be held from the funeral home on Sunday,Oct.24,at 2 p.m.with Dr.S.A.Talman,pastor of First Presbyterian Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
