Charles C. Reese, former Belle Vernon chief of police,died Tuesday, December 19,1944,after a brief illness. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Violet Nole of Belle Vernon;five sons,Charles William, Gunners Mate with the Navy in the South Pacific;John J. of Oklahoma,William J.,Seaman Second Class,Sgt. Robert in England, and James of Belle Vernon;four brothers, Jesse of Akron, Ohio,Albert of Charleston, W.Va.,William of Nashville, Tenn. and Cpl. Christopher in the Army;four sisters, Mrs. BerthA MacDonald and Mrs. Clara Nelson of Belle Vernon,Mrs. Sophia Weidl and Mrs. Margaret Adams of New Kensington. Nine grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home. Services will be held there Friday,December 22,1944,at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner is the funeral director.
