Obituary

Charles C. Hale, 74, of 324 Second St.. California, died Saturday afternoon, May 3, 1980,in his home. He was born Aug. 22,1905, in Twilight, son of Frank and Louisa Calverley Hale. He was a member of the California United Methodist Church. A retired employee of J&L Steel Corp., he was past master of Lodge 461, F&AM, California, the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, the Consistory and Syria Temple, Pittsburgh, and the Knights Templar of Brownsville. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Surviving are his widow, Lydia Harvey Hale; one brother, Frank of LaBell, Fla.; and two sisters, Mrs. Vincent (Thelma) Boag of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. August (Genevieve) Vandermer of Belle Vernon. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the John E. Greenlief Funeral Home, 323 Fourth St., California. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. A. James Decker officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
