Charles Bentley Jenkins,81,of 320 Wright Court,Libertyville,Ill.,formerly of 422 Speer St.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,Jan17,1990,at 9:32 p.m. in Condell Memorial Hospital,Libertyville. Born April 21,1908,in Monongahela,he was the son of the late Robert and Sarah Barringer Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins lived most of his life in the Belle Vernon area,having lived in Libertyville the past several years. He was lifelong amateur radio operator,identified by the call letters W3KGR. He was Protestant by faith. He retired in 1971 from the Page Plant of American Chain and Cable Company in Monessen,where he had been an electrician. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Vera Whetzel Jenkins,on Feb. 6,1969. Surviving are one son,Charles J. Jenkins of Marietta,Ga.;one daughter,Mrs Robert (Marilyn) Prinzing of Libertyville,with whom he made his home;six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.,when services will be held in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,with the Rev. Donald A. Schnarr,First Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
