Charles a. Galligan III,69,of 221 Davidson Drive, Speers, died Friday,May 13,1994,in Mon Valley Hospital. Born in Boston, Mass.,Dec.24,1924,he was the son of the late Charles A. Galligan II and Dorothy Logue. Mr. Galligan was Prostestant by faith. He was a life member and former chief of the Belle Vernon Volunter Fire Company number two and a member of the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member and past president of the Belle Vernon Lions Club and a member of the U.S. Figure Skating Association. He had lived in Speers since 1969,having formerly resided in Belle Vernon. Mr. Gallign retired in 1991 as supervisor for Interstate Record Company of Hagerstown,Md. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Galligan is survived by his wife, Betty McDonald Galligan;two sons and a daughter-in-law,William B. and JoEll Galligan of Philadelphia and Charles A. Galligan IV of Washington,Pa;and his mother-in-law,Mary McDonald of Speers. Friends will be received in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Charles K. Sowden,retired Methodist Minister officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
