C. Eli/abeth Gess of 427 Jones St., Belle Vernon, died Monday Feb. 21,1983,at 4 p.m. in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Miss Gess was born in Monessen,a daughter of the late Lawrence and Bertha Watkins Gess. A member of Rehoboth United Presbyterian Church, she spent most of her life in the Rostraver Township area. Miss Gess was a graduate of Monessen High School and Mount Union College, Alliance, Ohio. She had been a teacher at the former Rostraver High School and the Belle Vernon Area schools for many years. In addition to her parents Miss Gess was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Willson, in 1958; and a brother, Walter Gess, in 1982. Survivors include two nephews, Lawrence Willson of Dallas, Texas and Richard Willson of Marietta, Ga.; and one niece, Mrs. Ian (Jacqueline) Ferguson of Columbia, Md. Friends will be received in the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services in the funeral home will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.with the Rev. Charles LaPlaca,pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon,offciating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
