Struck by a northbound Pennsylvania Railroad passentger train at Dunlevy crossing, Mrs. Ramo Rossi,35,temporary postal substitute there,was instantly killed at 12:15 p.m. Friday, July 6,1945. Mrs. Rossi,the former Celeste O'Hara,was a prominent church and clubwoman and until her marriage,a teacher in the Second street school. She was a staff assistant of the Charleroi Red Cross and had recently been cited for excellent work in selling war savings bonds. Mrs. Rossi was walking home to lunch from the Dunlevy post office when struck by the train. She had crossed the south-bound track,the siding track and was believed hit by the left cylinder head of the locomotive. Mrs. Rossi,who had been acting as a temporary clerk at the Dunlevy post office in the Rossini building,left at the usual time to walk to her home for lunch. Guy Rossini recalled that she had forgotten something and returned. This fatal timing brought her to the crossing just as the train approached. Mrs Rossi was among the best known persons of this vivinity. She is survived by her husband, one son,her mother, Mr. Pauline O'Hara,a sister, Mrs. Harry Lancaster,and two brothers, Vincent and Edward O'Hara. Friends will be received at her late home and services will be held there Monday, July 9,1945,at 2 p.m.,in charge Rev. Funk,pastor of the United Brethren Church of Dunlevy. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Chas. L. and Edwin Melenyzer,are the funeral directors.
