Cecilia M. Cel Misiak Sadowski; 91; of Belle Vernon; died Tuesday; March 11; 2008; at 12:45 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born July 22; 1916; in Michigan; she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Julia Szczepaniak Misiak. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mrs. Sadowski was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon. She and her late husband were the former owners and operators of Sadowski’s Supermarket and Lynnwood Lanes. Mrs. Sadowski was a member of the former Catholic Daughters of the Americas; Court 1522; serving as past Grand Regent for three terms; member of the Past Grand Regents and past District Deputy. She also was a former vice president of the St. Vincent DePaul Society; member of the St. Sebastian Church funeral choir; and the former Ladies Guild of St. Sebastian Church. Mrs. Sadowski was an avid golfer; belonging to several area golf leagues. She is survived by two daughters and sons- in-law; Cecilia and Dwight Williams and Eileen and Frank Sivek; and one daughter-in-law; Carol Sadowski; all of Belle Vernon; three sisters; Grace Rabine; of Mt. Clemens; Mich.; Aurelia Sexton; of New Haven; Mich.; and Mary Wanda Maevine Koreniewski; of Longview; Texas; eight grandchildren; Pamela Donohoe; Marsha Parise; Patti Maiale; Joe Sadowski; Bill Sadowski; Kevin Sadowski; Lisa Karn and Shannon Rabe; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; Joseph Sadowski; her son; Joseph T. Sadowski; in 1995; one grandson; Christopher Williams; in 2003; three brothers; Norbert; Arthur and Florie Misiak; and two sisters; Lucy Thomas and Rita Susick. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; family owned and operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon (724-929- 6183). A Prayer Service will be held Saturday; March 15; at 11 a.m. in the funeral home; followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Cecilia Sadowski on Friday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
