Mrs.Catherine Shaffer,aged 41 years,died very suddenly at her home in Monongahela avenue,North Charleroi,Tuesday night,December 20,1927,at 10 o'clock,following a brief illness. About a week ago Mrs.Shaffer was taken ill,her condition later developing into pnuemonia. Her death came as a shock to the residents of North Charleroi,as her condition was not considered serious. The deceased came to North Charleroi five years ago from Belle Vernon,where she and her family had resided for many years. She was well known to many valley people,bring a most active worker in St.Jerome's Catholic Church and an interested and loyal worker of all the church's societies. Surviving are her five children;James,Francis and Vincent,Barnett,and Miss Eleanor,at home,and Mrs.J.Paterline of Charleroi. Funeral services were held Friday morning December 23,1927,at 9 o'clock in St.Jerome's Catholic Church with interment following in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
