Catherine "Kay" Turtzer Caputo, 93, of Elco, formerly of North Belle Vernon, died Thursday, April 16, 2015, at 8 p.m. at Flo's Personal Care Home, Elco. Born Jan. 2, 1922, in Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Marin Turtzer. Mrs. Caputo was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, the former St. Sebastian Ladies Guild, former Catholic Daughters of the Americas Belle Vernon Court 1522, former Legion of Mary St. Sebastian Church, Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul. She also loved to play the organ and watch Steelers football. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Bob Grant and wife, Paula, Frank Grant, David Grant and wife, Dr. Erin Hannagan, Judi Grant Kostelansky and husband, Norman, Andrew Kozar, Charles Kozar, Deacon Jerome Kozar and wife, Pat, Paul Turtzer and wife, Ruth, Karen Turtzer Hanrahan and husband, Tom, Dorothy Whitlatch and husband, Al, and Raymond Kolick; special great-nieces, Jean Ann Kozar Blair; and many other great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nephews, Matthew Blair and wife, Cali, Nicholas Blair and Dale Kozar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Caputo June 21, 1975; four brothers, Frank, Alex, Rudolph and Charles Turtzer; three sisters, Margaret Kozar Pandrock, Betty LaVonne, and Emma Kolich; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rose "Babe" and Bob Grant; and a niece, Joann Kozar. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayer service will be held Monday at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Catherine Caputo Sunday at 3:15 p.m. in the funeral home.
