Catherine (Kitty) Wergin of Pricedale died Sunday July 10;1983 at 11:37 p.m.in the Mon Valley Hospital. She was 61. Mrs.Wergin was born April 18;1922;in Belle Vernon;a daughter of the late Joseph and Susan Wilkinson. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area;she was a retired employee of the state institution of Mayview. Mrs.Wergin was preceded in death by her husband;Russell;in 1954. Survivors include four sons;Jerry Abbey of Brownsville;George Abbey of Charleroi;James Wergin of Carroll Twp.;and Berry Wergin at home;two daughters;Mrs.Vern (Latricia Tish ) Hess of Van Voorhis and Mrs.David (Linda) Van Asselt of Hutchinson;Kansas;12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Wednesday;July 13;at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
