Obituary
Mrs. Carrie West,89, of 415 Clarendon Ave.,Monessen died Sunday, June 15,1969 at 4:35 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital after a three weeks' illness. Born in Montgomery,Ala.,Sept. 18,1879,she had lived in the Mon Valley 40 years. Mrs. West was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gallatin and was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star in Washington. Surviving are a son, Jesse of Monessen;two daughters, Mrs. Ida Mae Brown of Monessen and Mrs. Dorothy Mae Pratt of Pittsburgh;three grandchildren,Robert Tarpley,Marshall West and Mrs. Loretta Floyd,all of Monessen. Friends will be received at the First Baptist Church in Gallatin.
