Carrie Mitchell Conti Rossi,94,of 204 Liberty Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Tuesday,Sept. 3,1996,in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. Born July 9,1902,in Belle Vernon,she was a daughter of the late Carmel and Mary Pagliai Mitchell. Mrs. Rossi was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon community,where she was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Belle Vernon Court 1522 and the Ladies Catholic Benevolent Association. Mrs. Rossi was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her first husband, Julius R. Conti,a well-known Monessen pharmacist who died in 1957;and by her second husband,Albert C. Rossi,who had been owner of Pennsy Barber Shop in Charleroi prior to his death in 1977. Survivors include one son,Retired Col.J.R. "Bud: Conti of Melbourne,Fla.;one daughter,Mrs. William J. (Doris C.) Zeli of Belle Vernon; one step-daughter,Laura Rossi Mullan of Charleroi;four grandchildren,Mrs. Robert (Laura) Reilly of Upper St. Clair,William J. Zeli Jr.of Plum Borough,Ronald V. and Robert L. Conti,both of Orlando,Fla.;and six great-grandchildren,Jonathan R. Reilly,Larissa A. Zeli,Andrew W. Reilly,Zachary W. Zeli,Christian R. Conti and Michael L. Conti. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. A Prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev. E. George Saletrik,parochial vicar,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Rossi to St. Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon. The Legion of Mary of St. Sebastian Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas,Belle Vernon Court 1522 will recite the Rosay Friday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
