Caroline E. Higgins,82,of Monessen,died Monday, Oct. 11,1993,in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. She was born April 3,1911,a daughter of the late John J. and Caroline Meyer Higgins. Miss Higgins had been employed at Fisher Big Wheel Co. for 50 years,before retiring in 1986. She was Roman Catholic by faith. She was a member of the Democrat Club of Monessen and had served as a committeewoman for many years. Miss Higgins is survived by a nephew and his wife, Howard R. and Sherri Clay Higgins of Belle Vernon R.D. and a niece,Denise Higgins. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by a sister,Alice E. Higgins and three brothers, Howard,Raymond and John Higgins. Friends will be received in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.,Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue,Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday,with Prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at the Epiphany of Our Lord Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In addition to the niece and nephew,Miss Higgins is survived by good friends,Andrew and Resilvia Clay of Belle Vernon. The Rhome Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
