Obituary

Carlton Lee Tansmore,four-year-old son of Mr.and Mrs.Merriell Tansmore,220 Ninth St.,Monessen,died Friday night,April 17,1964 in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital ,apparently of injuries suffered when struck by an automobile last Monday afternoon,April 13. Young Tansmore was struck near Ninth St. and Schoonmaker Ave. He was rushed to Charleroi-Monessen Hospital where he remained on the critical list with head injuries until his death. The Tansmore boy received a skull fracture when police said he darted from a parked vehicle into the path of an auto driven by Michael Abraham,128 Pennsylvania Blvd.Monessen. Abraham took the victim to the hospital. An autopsy was to be performed today. Stephen Yoney,Westmoreland County coroner,said he would make a further investigation into the case. Surviving in addition to his parents,Mr.and Mrs. Merriell Tansmore,are two brothers,Timothy and Dale,and four sisters,Merle Denise,Sabrina,Arlene,and Donna Ruth,all at home,his paternal grandparents,Mr.and Mrs. Millford Tansmore of Monessen,his maternal grandfather,Daniel Smith of Pittsburgh,his great-grandmother,Mrs.Pearl Phillips of McKeesport,ten uncles and twelve aunts. Friends are being received at the DuBoise H.Carter Funeral Home in Monessen. Service Tuesday,April 21 at 11 a.m. in Union Baptist Church,Monessen,with the Rev.D.Chatman,pastor,officiating.
