Carl H. Mood, 95, of Rostraver Twp., passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 in his home. A son of the late Gust and Lilly Glotfelty Mood, he was born in Belle Vernon on September 27, 1928. Carl served in the US Army Air Corp as a weatherman in World War II and belonged to the American Legion Post 0945 of Belle Vernon. He was a union carpenter by trade for 75 years belonging to Carpenter’s Union #432 and was a partner in Haury Construction Company from 1952 until 1965. Robert Haury and Carl Mood built, owned and operated Rostraver Ice Garden in 1965. From 1965 until retirement, he owned and operated Mood Construction Company, Inc., which built many churches, banks, schools, high rises, and many other commercial structures in the area. He also was a partner in JC Industries of Fayette City which specialized in mine subsidence work until his retirement. Carl was an avid outdoorsman who cut many acres of grass and once had an orchard of 500 apple trees. Some of his best times were spent with his brothers and friends hunting at his camp in Elk County. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Joan McFall Mood, two daughters, Deborah Redman and Dana Pollacci, both of Belle Vernon, three grandchildren, Jill Woodson Garrett and family of Georgia, Thomas (Christy) Woodson and family of Fayette City, and Ryan (Kim) Redman and family of Charleroi , six great grandchildren, and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, including a very special nephew, Jack Mood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma Jean Mood, his daughter, Carol Jean Mood Woodson in 2002, three brothers, Walter, Edwin, and Jack Mood, and one sister, Evelyn Mood Renstrom.
