Obituary

Carl M. (Cutty) Duda,68,of Fairhope,Belle Vernon,died suddenly Thursday,May 17,1990,at 2:12 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital.  He was born Nov.24,1921,in Arnold City,a son of the late Peter and Mary Kosiba Duda.  He was a member of the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City.  He was a member of the Fairhope Rod &, Gun Club,the VFW Post #3557,Fairhope,the Polish Club of Arnold City,Mon Valley Dartball League and the Golden Ale Bowling League.  He was discharged from the U.S.Army on May 31,1947,having served with the medical detactment of the First Infantry Regiment during World War II.  He was retired in 1980 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.with over 33 years of service in the Blooming Mill of the Monessen Plant.   In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by one son,Carl W.Duda,in 1977.  Survivors include his wife,Jennie Park Duda,one son,Edward Duda of Fairhope,one daughter,Mrs.Thomas (Mary Lou) Price of Roscoe,seven grandchildren,three brothers,Frank Duda of Monessen,George Duda of Fairhope and Edmund (Rex) Duda of Lynnwood,Belle Vernon,and one sister,Mrs.Julia Howski of Fairhope.  Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.,Sunday all day and Monday until 9:30 a.m.,when a Prayer service will be held in the funeral home,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City,with Rev.Thomas G.Rinn,pastor,as celebrant.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  A Church wake service will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m.in the funeral home.  The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangemnts.
