Carl Edward Gillie,105 Ninth street, Monessen,aged 55 years,died Wednesday morning, February 6,1946 at 4:00 a.m. in the Presbyterian hosptial,Pittsburgh,following a lingering illness. The deceased had been a resident of Monessen for the past 33 years,during which time he was employed at the Pittsburgh Steel co. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge for 25 years,and of the Balder Lodge No 53. Surviving are a daughter, Joanne at home,a brother, Gustav of Duluth, Minn.,and two sisters, Mrs. Hanna Delen and Mrs. Signe Delen of Sweden. His wife, Ruth P. preceded him in death a little over a year ago. Friends are being received at the Woodward Home for Funerals,where services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Dr. R.F. Steininger. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Dave H. Woodward,funeral director in charge.
