Carl A.Komperda;Sr.of 238 Indiana Ave.;Monessen;died Friday;June 23;1978;at 1:50 a.m. in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was 71. He was born July 7;1906 in Tarrs;Pa. Mr.Komperda was a Monessen resident since 1968;formerly of Finleyville. He was a coal miner at the Mathies Mine;retiring in 1972. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was preceded in death by his wife;Christina Drotsar Komperda;on Feb.10;1973. Mr.Komperda is survived by three sons;Carl A.Komperda Jr.of Oregon;Vincent Komperda of New Castle;and Daniel Komperda of Belle Vernon;five daughters;Mrs.John (Pauline) Buchton Jr.of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Mary Lou Esola of Monessen;Mrs.Danny (Pat) Trozzo of Cleveland;Ohio;Christina Komperda of New Bethlehem;and Mrs.Leonard (Carol) Palton of New Eagle;16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren;and two sisters;Mrs.Bertha Juristy of Pursglove;W.Va.;and Mrs.Caroline Kwasny of Coal Center. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;after 7 p.m.Saturday;and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson;funeral director;is in charge of arrangments.
