Capt. J.F. Bowell,aged 64 years,died Sunday,August 13,1922 at 5:40 at his home in Belle Vernon,after being a sufferer for some time of Bright's disease. Mr. Bowell was born in Millsboro May 2,1858,and for the past forty-five years has been a captain on the Monongahela river boats. He is well known by rivermen from St.Louis to Farmont. He had been captain of the Steamer Braddock for twenty years. Capt. Bowell is survived by his wife,four sons,Stewart,Jesse,James and Harold, and two daughters, Estelle and Mildred,all at home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon from the home,210 Main street,and the remains will be laid to rest in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
