Obituary

Betty McClain Brewer, 82, of North Belle Vernon, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at 3:30 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born June 18, 1920, in Charleroi, she was a daughter of the late John and Bertha Clement McClain. She was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, a homemaker, and a member of Pricedale Union Church. Mrs. Brewer also attended Calvary Bible Church in North Charleroi. She was a member of the Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly. Mrs. Brewer is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dale A. and Judy Brewer of Waynesboro, Va., two daughters and one son-in-law, Darlene and Ralph Waggett of Roscoe, and Nadene Joy Brewer of North Belle Vernon, two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Vivian McClain of Belle Vernon and Herbert and Kaye McClain of Charleroi, one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Jack Narey of Monongahela, two sisters-in-law, Doris Anne McClain of Belle Vernon and Lavina McClain of San Jose, Calif., four grandchildren, Bethany Dawn Hatalsky and husband Jason of Washington, Pa., Jodi Elyn Simmons and husband Josh of Waynesboro, Va., Amy Hilt and husband Roger Lee of Staunton, Va., and Dylan Brewer of Waynesboro, Va., and one great-granddaughter, Trinity Ann Hilt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery C. Brewer, on Oct. 28, 1992, one daughter, at birth, two brothers, John J. McClain and James Edward McClain Sr., and one sister, Florence Ellen Burkhart. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, in the funeral home at noon with the Rev. James J. Mimidis, pastor of Pricedale Union Church, and Pastor James Hartzler of Calvary Bible Church, North Charleroi, officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
