Bertha Mary Sims,80,of Charleroi R.D.2,died Saturday,Sept. 4,1993,at 8:25 a.m. at home. She was born in Monessen,June 12,1913,a daughter of the late John B. and Bertha Knapp Miller. Mrs. Sims was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon and the Order of Eastern Star,Belle Vernon. She had lived in Fallowfield Township for the past four years and formerly resided in Lynnwood, Belle Vernon. Mrs. Sims is survived by a daughter-in-law,Louise Sims of Charleroi R.D.2,a grandson and his wife, Mark and Ann Sims,with whom she made her home;two granddaughters, Karen Williams of Killeen,Texas and Barbara Beben of Madisonburg,and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Edward Sims,who died August of 1989;and a son,Thomas Edward Sims,who died January of 1990. Funeral services were held Monday in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Interment followed in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
