Bertha H.Roberts;88;formerly of the Belle Vernon Apartments;died Saturday;April 13;1996;in South Hills Convalescent Center;Canonsburg. She was born July 14;1907 in Mt.Braddock;a daughter of the late Charles and Estella Hammitt Mossburg. Mrs.Roberts was a member of the Fayette City Christian Church for 49 years and taught the In Our Lord’s Service Class at the church for 40 years. She also served as deaconess of the church. Mrs.Roberts also managed the former Hagan’s Dairy Store in Belle Vernon for many years. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Charles Roberts in 1953 and one son;Albert Roberts;in 1953. Survivors include two daughters;Mrs.Joseph (Mae) Schneider of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Aldo (Ruth) Stagi of Charleroi;two grandsons;Robert Mark Schneider and Charles Stagi;and two great-grandchildren;Kathy and Patrick Stagi. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Wayne Boring;pastor of the First Christian Church;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
