Obituary

Bert McCullough Jr.,64,of 133 Homewood Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Feb.1,1990,at 5:35 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born May 9,1925,in Belle Vernon,a son of the late Bert and Pearl Mae Price McCullough Sr. He was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon community. He was a member of the Lynnwood Lutheran Church. He was co-owner of McCullough Cleaning Service of Belle Vernon and was also employed at the Fayette Steel Co.of Mt.Pleasant,where he worked as wire drawer. He was a U.S.Army veteran,having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion,Post 659 in Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by one brother,Hugh McCullough. Survivors include his wife of 25 years,Catherine Kiefer McCullough,five sons,Andrew of Del Rio,Texas,Leonard of Woodstock,Vt.,David of Vandenberg Air Force Base,Calif.,Keith of Pittsburgh,and Michael,at home,one daughter,Cathy Deluca of Mars,one brother,Donald McCullough of Belle Vernon,three sisters,Mrs.John (Oella) Joseph of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Louis (Esther) Antonucci of Belle Vernon and Mrs.James (Bonnie) Redd of Valparaiso,Ind.,and three grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m.with Pastor Robert C.Hawk of the Lynnwood Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 will hold services Sunday at 7 p.m.in the funeral home. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
