Obituary

Bernard Stimmell,69,of New lenox,Ill.,formerly of Lowber R.D. 1,Fayette City,died Wednesday,Sept. 9,1992,in the Foster G. McGaw Loyola Medical Center,Chicago,after a short illness.  He was born in Jefferson Township o April 3,1923,a son of the late Asa and Matilda Neff Stimmell. Mr. Stimmell had resided in New Lenox,Ill.for the past 28 years.  He was  member of the New Lenox United Methodist Church. He had served withe U.S.Army during World War II,having served in the South Pacific.  He retired in 1974 as a Nail Operator from U.S. Steel's Joliet,Ill.Works. Mr. Stimmell is survived by his wife,Kathleen J. Walton Stimmell;a son and daughter-in-law,Randy Bernard and Sue Ellen Stimmell of Carol Stream,Ill;a daughter,Mrs. Paul (Karen L.) Pioch of Palastine,Ill,;a brother,James W. Stimmell of Fayette City R.D.1;three sisters, Margaret Stimmell of Fayette city R.D.1,Mrs. Harry (Katherine) Ganter of Orange Park,Fla.and Mrs. Robert (Ella Mae) Christopher of Orchard Park,New York;and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a sister,Violet Nussbaumer and two brothers,Henry Stimmell and Asa Stimmell. Friends will be recieved at the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Belle Vernon Cemetery with the Rev. H.D.Hough of Indiana,Pa.,officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemertery.  The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
