Obituary

Bernard (Little Jazz) Crenshaw,2145 Center Ave.,Pittsburgh,died Monday,April 2,1979,in Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh. He was 56. Born May 13,1922,in Monessen,he was the son of the late Clinton Crenshaw Sr.and Rosetta Dillard Crenshaw. Mr.Crenshaw was a well-known pianist,performing with the Jerry Betters and Harold Betters orchestras of Pittsburgh and the Mon Valley area. He was a member of the Musicians Association of Pittsburgh. Mr.Crenshaw is survived by three brothers,Leroy Stamper of Detroit,Mich.,Carl Payne and Clinton Crenshaw,Jr.,both of Monessen,a son,Terrel Crenshaw of Washngton,Pa.,a devoted friend,Lottie Jones of Monessen,and a number of nieces,nephews and friends. Friends will be received in the William R.Taylor Funeral Home,645 McMahon Ave.,Monessen,on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday in the Fellowship Baptist Church,with the Rev.W.Hubbard,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. William R.taylor,funeral director, is in charge of arrangements.
