Bernard A. Girhiny; 87; of Rostraver Township; passed away Saturday; Dec. 22; 2012. A son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Ferenz Girhiny; he was born June 3; 1925. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by two sisters; Margaret Gocella and Emma Beneccio; and a brother; Jules Girhing. He is survived by his wife of 41 years; Betty Pulaski Girhiny; a stepson; Edward Sweeney of Shaler Township; a stepgranddaughter; Meghan Sweeney; two sisters; Elizabeth S. Girhing of Pricedale and Julia (Jay) Matway of Carroll Township; and a brother-in-law; Larry Gocella of Delaware. Bernard was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and was an Army veteran; having serving during World War II. As per Bernard’s request; visitation and services were private.
