Bernadette M. Bunny Petros; 54; of Monessen; died Tuesday; Jan. 3; 2006; in her home. She was born March 22; 1951; a daughter of Kathryn Tina Partezana Petros; who survives; and the late Peter Petros. Miss Petros was the owner/operator of Bunny’s Beauty Shop in Monessen for the past 36 years. She was due to begin serving as the city controller of the City of Monessen next week. Miss Petros was a Past Exulted Ruler of Monessen BPOE Lodge 773; a current member of Monongahela BPOE Lodge 455 and was currently serving as District State Vice President through the Elks. She also was the president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Monessen Eagles. Surviving; in addition to her mother; are two sisters; Sharon Lunt and Russel Wiseman; and Mrs. Joseph (Patti) Rodgers; two brothers; Michael Petros and Jonny Molek; two nephews; Brian and Craig Lunt; two great-nephews; Johnathan Feick and Drew Brown; and a dear friend; Anthony Lumpy Lombardo. Preceding her in death; in addition to her father; were a brother; Peter Petros; a nephew; Ronald Lunt; a brother-in-law; Art Lunt; and her grandparents; Lena and Alex Partezana. Friends will be received Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC.; a Golden Rule Funeral Home; 1209 Grand Blvd.; Monessen. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. on Saturday; Jan. 7. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Monongahela Elks will hold services on Friday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
