Funeral services for Benjamin Rivers,65 year old Pricedale hunter who was found dead in a wooded area near his home late Wednesday morning,October 31,1956,will be held Saturday afternoon. Police said Mr. Rivers,who was hunting at the time,suffered a heart attack. He had been sought since Monday when he did not return from a trip afield with his dog. He was found lying at the foot of the Pittsburgh Steel Co. slag dump at Allen'a Crossroads. Three hunters stumbled upon the body at 11 a.m. They were Vincent Diethorn,of Belle Vernon and Walter Boord and Jerry Destefan of Monessen. They were members of a search party organized by Rostraver Township Constable Harry Weightman. Born in Lamont, Fla.,Mr. Rivers was a member of George Washington Carver Lodge No.8 Free and Accepted Masons,and the Hirman Grand Lodge,F.and A.M. Survivors inclde his wife,Mrs. Georgia Rivers;a son,William Greenwood,of Newark,N.J.;a sister,Fanny Damond,of Palmetto,Fla.,and a brother,Walter Rivers,of Lima,Ohio. Friends are being received at the Keith Funeral Home in McKeesport.
