Benjamin E. (Ben) Butler Jr.;of 925 Hill St.;Belle Vernon;died Friday;Dec.5;1986;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp. He was 79. Mr.Burtler was born Sept.3;1907;in Tampa;Fla.;a son of the late Rev.Benjamin A.Butler and Hattie Butler. He was also a step-son of the late Minnie Lee Butler. Mr.Butler was a retired employee of the former Page Steel and Wire Division in Monessen. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church;Belle Vernon;and was chairman of the Trustee Board of the Church. In addition to his parents and step-mother;he was also preceded in death by a brother;Lawrence;and by a sister;Hattie. Surviving are his wife;Christella Butler;four sons;Benjamin of North Braddock;Pa.;Glenn of New York City;N.Y.;and Michael and Vaughn;both at home;four daughters;Carla and Sandra;both of Pittsburgh;and Rozalind and Jacquelyn;both in New York;seven grandchildren;and one daughter-in-law;Bernice. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 9 p.m.in the Antioch Baptist Church;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.;with the Rev.Luther Wormack;pastor;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery;Belle Vernon. The Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;608 Sixth St.;Monessen;is in charge of arrangements.
