Obituary

Benjamin (Benny) Draper,74,of 608 Sixth St.,Monessen,died Tuesday,July 14,1964,at 9:30 p.m. in St.Francis Hospital,Pittsburgh,after a short illness. Mr.Draper retired from the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co.in 1957. He was a member of the O.A.K.Y.Lodge,I.B.P.O.E. of W.697,Monessen,and was a life-member of the Monessen Choral and Literary Club. Born in Huntsville,Ala.,Jan.20,1890,he was the son of the late John and Francis Draper. He came to Monessen in 1910. Surviving are two daughters,Mrs.Harry (Ruby) McCraw of Monessen and Dundeenah Draper of Inkster,Mich.,one son,Beverly C.Draper, Monessen mortician,with whom he had made his home,four grandchildren, four great-greandchildren,and a brother-in-law,Samuel Stamper of Monessen. Preceding him in death was his wife,Mary,April,1958. Friends will be received after 7 p.m.July 15 at the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home,Monessen. Service in Union Baptist Church,Monessen,Saturday,July 18,at 11 a.m.in charge of the Rev.D.D.Chatman,pastor. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. James Tunie of Homestead,funeral director.
