Obituary

Beatice L.Ball Kontilak of Westgate Manor Apartments,848 Donner Ave.,Monessen,died at 3:08 a.m. Monday in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 67. Born Dec.13,1915,in Bentleyville,she was the daughter of the late John and Madeline Kolla Drozdik. Mrs.Kontilak was a resident of Monessen for 12 years and formerly lived in the Bentleyville-Ellsworth area. She was a member of St.Leonard Roman Catholic Church of Monessen and the Monessen Eagles Ladies Auxiliary No.2399 and the Monessen Senior Citizens. Her first husband,Joseph M.Ball,died Aug.9,1961. Her second husband,John Kontilak,is also deceased. Surviving are one son,Joseph J.Ball of Ellsworth,four daughters,Beatrice Emerson of Tacoma,Wash.,Janet Gardner of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Lou (Karen) Barish of Aliquippa and Mrs.Leroy (Norene) Hustava of Ellsworth. Also surviving are three sisters,Mrs.Mary Phiaczek of Akron,Ohio, Sister Mary Marcella of the Vincentian Sisters of Charity in Pittsburgh and Mrs.Justine Klebick of Bentleyville,15 grandchildren,seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers,John,Christopher and Morris Drozdik,three sisters,Maggie,Annie and Theresa Drozdik,one granddaughter,Denise Barish and one great-granddaughter,Heather Dawn Jay,are deceased. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Wednesday in the Kenneth V.Thompson Funeral Home,809 Main St.,Bentleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St.Leonard Roman Catholic Church of Monessen with Rev.Patrick J.O'Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday night. The Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
